Now, when you consider the fact that he played behind a first ballot Hall of Fame player in Trent Williams, you can see why.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_mgmp9v56w\">\u201cHe\u2019s athletic. He\u2019s a smart kid. We did a lot of work on him during the pre draft process years ago, always had a liking, taking liking to the kid, thought he had a game that translates and and credit to him that when he had a chance to go out there and log six, seven starts last year, he did a really good job.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 data-mm-id=\"_mgmp9v56w\">Moore Signing Potentially A Misstep By The Chiefs<\/h2>\n<p>But according to Gary Davenport, the team made one of the least smart decisions this offseason by bringing in the former 49er.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting ESPN\u2019s Seth Walder back in March, Davenport argues that bringing in a somewhat unknown quantity in Moore at left tackle was not a smart decision when trying to protect the best quarterback in football \u2013 certainly for a team that is perennially vying for Super Bowl rings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are spots in roster-building where taking risks makes sense,\u201d Walder writes, via Davenport, \u201cPatrick Mahomes\u2018 left tackle is not one of them. Moore is somewhat of an unknown, but what we do know isn\u2019t pretty. His 83% career pass block win rate would have ranked 63rd out of 67 tackle qualifiers last season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There have not been a ton of similar signings to compare with this, but the ones that have been done look somewhat ominous for KC.<\/p>\n<p>Andre Dillard and Hal Vaitai \u2013 both coming from the Philadelphia Eagles, failed to produce as starting tackles for the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions.
