Taylor Swift has issued a blistering response as she has been officially subpoenaed as a witness in\u00a0Blake Lively\u00a0and Justin Baldoni\u2019s legal war after the actress\u2019\u00a0lawyer weighed in on the megastar will testify.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 35-year-old Eras Tour star was sent legal notice on Friday by 41-year-old Baldoni\u2019s lawyer Bryan Freedman as a witness.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s camp is slamming the subpoena as they argue that she was not very involved in the drama on set of 2024 film It Ends With Us.<\/p>\n

A rep for Taylor gave a blistering response to DailyMail.com which read: \u2018Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.\u2019<\/p>\n

The rep notes that the only involvement Taylor had in the film was the use of one of her tracks titled My Tears Ricochet which was off of her 2020 album Folklore.<\/p>\n

The statement concluded: \u2018Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift\u2019s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.\u2019<\/p>\n

Blake later shared her response to Swift being subpoenaed on Friday.<\/p>\n

Her legal team slammed Baldoni\u2019s lawyers for issuing the subpoena to the Grammy winner and also clapped back at the suggestion that tickets be sold to Lively\u2019s deposition, per\u00a0People.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the actress\u2019s rep said: \u2018Mr. Baldoni, Mr. Sarowitz, and team continue to turn a case of sexual harassment and retaliation into entertainment for the tabloids\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2018Going as far as suggesting that they sell tickets to a concert venue \u2013 Madison Square Garden \u2013 to witness Ms. Lively\u2019s deposition, to subpoenaing Taylor Swift, a woman who has given a voice to millions all over the world.<\/p>\n

\u2018This is a very serious legal matter, not Barnum & Bailey\u2019s Circus.\u2019<\/p>\n

The rep also added that, \u2018The defendants continue to publicly intimidate, bully, shame and attack women\u2019s rights and reputations. Including in the past month seeking to strike down for all, a powerful California victims\u2019 rights law, calling it \u201cunconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The disturbing actions by a billionaire, men who made their careers as \u201cfemale allies\u201d and their team continue to show their true colors.\u2019<\/p>\n

This comes a day after Blake\u2019s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, opened up about who is set to\u00a0take the stand in his client\u2019s upcoming trial involving\u00a0her It Ends with Us costar\u00a0Justin.<\/p>\n

In response to whether Lively will testify, Gottlieb confirmed she would, as expected, \u2018be a witness at her trial.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The ultimate moment for a plaintiff\u2019s story to be told is at trial. We expect that to be the case here [with Lively],\u2019 he told\u00a0People. \u2018Of course she\u2019s going to testify.\u2019<\/p>\n

Amid speculation that some of Lively\u2019s closest friends, like\u00a0Taylor Swift\u00a0and\u00a0Hugh Jackman, may be subpoenaed,\u00a0Gottlieb said \u2018it\u2019s\u00a0completely unclear what claims or defenses in the case any of these celebrities\u2026 have any relevance to at all.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018This is a case about what happened to Blake Lively when she\u00a0raised claims of sexual harassment on the set. It\u2019s not a case about how songs were chosen for the movie. It\u2019s not a case about fictional Marvel characters in Deadpool movies,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

Gottlieb went on to point out: \u2018You have to ask the question, then, why are these people being subpoenaed?\u00a0Do they have any actual relevance to the case at hand? You can\u2019t just go around subpoenaing people because they\u2019re famous and you think it will generate a bunch of headlines. And the federal courts don\u2019t tolerate that kind of behavior.\u2019<\/p>\n

At this time, he explained it is uncertain if Lively\u2019s husband,\u00a0Ryan Reynolds, will\u00a0testify as he is\u00a0currently named as a defendant in Baldoni\u2019s countersuit.<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s team is working to get those claims dismissed.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s attorney Bryan Freedman hit back at\u00a0Gottlieb\u2019s remarks and accused him of trying to deflect from the case.<\/p>\n

This comes a day after Blake\u2019s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, has opened up about who is set to take the stand in his client\u2019s upcoming trial involving her It Ends With Us costar Justin<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the actress\u2019s attorney confirmed that his client, 37, is prepared to speak under oath in court and \u2018be a witness at her trial\u2019 (seen last month)<\/p>\n

\u2018Although obviously uncomfortable for the Lively parties, the truth is not a distraction,\u2019 Freedman told People in a statement. \u2018The truth has been clearly shown through unedited receipts, documents and real life footage. More to come.\u2019<\/p>\n

Freedman continued: \u2018Blake was the one who brought her high-profile friends into this situation without concern for their own personal or public backlash. As the truth shows, she used her dragons to manipulate Justin at every turn.\u2019<\/p>\n

Freedman\u2019s final remark was a nod to Lively\u2019s alleged text messages to Baldoni, in which she referred to Swift and Reynolds \u2018dragons.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the alleged texts, she compared herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones and explained \u2018for better or worse\u2019 her \u2018dragons\u2019 protect what she fights for.<\/p>\n

In regards to\u00a0Reynolds\u2019\u00a0alleged misconduct,\u00a0Freedman claimed: \u2018Ryan\u2019s involvement is very well documented and we continue to discover more intentional misconduct. Was Disney actually complicit in Ryan using shareholder revenues to further a personal grudge? I would be surprised to learn that this type of corporate waste would not lead to much more exposure for those that have been complicit in affecting shareholder revenue.\u2019<\/p>\n

In December,\u00a0Lively filed an 80-page civil rights complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against, before officially filing a federal lawsuit just weeks later.<\/p>\n

That same month, Lively\u00a0sued Baldoni amid claims of sexual harassment during production of the motion picture.\u00a0In her lawsuit, the Gossip Girl alumna accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her in multiple ways \u2014 including body shaming her \u2014 and orchestrating a smear campaign against her to damage her reputation.<\/p>\n

Baldoni and his reps have said in response to the lawsuit that Lively twisted the meaning of text messages and mislead the public about their interactions while making the motion picture.<\/p>\n

In her lawsuit, Lively named a number of Baldoni\u2019s collaborators, including his company Wayfarer Studios, the studio\u2019s CEO and financial backer, and PR personnel Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel.<\/p>\n

\u2018I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted,\u2019 Lively told The New York Times the day after she filed the complaint.<\/p>\n

Baldoni subsequently sued the newspaper for $250 million in a defamation claim over a December 21 story titled \u2018\u201dWe Can Bury Anyone\u201d: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine.\u2019 The newspaper has denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

Baldoni on January 16\u00a0filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and her publicist Leslie Sloane, alleging defamation and extortion.\u00a0Baldoni told the court the trio had concocted \u2018false accusations of sexual harassment\u2019 against him.<\/p>\n

Since Lively\u2019s complaint was filed, Baldoni has faced a number of professional consequences, including a lawsuit from a former publicist; and being\u00a0dropped by the agency WME, which also reps Lively and Reynolds.<\/p>\n

WME has denied claims that Lively and Reynolds leaned on them to release Baldoni from their client roster, according to Variety.<\/p>\n

Lawyers for both parties were in accordance with a plan to compound both federal cases filed into one moving forward.<\/p>\n

The film, adapted from the 2016 Colleen Hoover novel, earned $148 million in domestic box office, and $350 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.<\/p>\n

Lively\u00a0broke out with the 2005 movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants opposite Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and America Ferrera.\u00a0That led to her high-profile role on the TV show Gossip Girl, which she starred on from 2007-2012, playing lead character Serena van der Woodsen.<\/p>\n

She has also appeared in movies such as 2010\u2019s The Town, 2016\u2019s The Shallows, 2018\u2019s A Simple Favor and 2020\u2019s The Rhythm Section.<\/p>\n

Prior to It Ends with Us, Baldoni was best known for\u00a0playing the role of Rafael Solano on the TV show Jane the Virgin from 2014\u20132019. He also has directed films including 2019\u2019s Five Feet Apart and 2020\u2019s Clouds, and penned the 2021 book Man Enough, which tackled misconceptions of contemporary masculinity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
