One of the top priorities for Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst this offseason is to find a trade partner for Jaire Alexander. The Packers want to receive compensation for their former first-round pick instead of releasing him for nothing before the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

The Kansas City Chiefs made a move this week that could open the door for a trade with the Packers. Sports Illustrated\u2019s Albert Breer and Bleacher Report\u2019s Kristopher Knox named the Chiefs as an ideal trade suitor for Green Bay.<\/p>\n

\u201cA team interested in Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander may be able to acquire him via trade, though the two-time Pro Bowler would reportedly prefer to hit the open market,\u201d Knox wrote. \u201cIn the past, Alexander has been among the league\u2019s top cover corners when healthy. However, injuries have limited him to 14 games over the past two seasons\u2026<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAlexander\u2019s trade market might primarily be teams that believe they can contend in 2025 and are willing to take a chance on his health. Breer named the Kansas City Chiefs as a potential landing spot for Alexander, and they didn\u2019t add a cornerback in the draft before taking Nohl Williams in Round 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unlikely that the Chiefs want Williams to be a Week 1 starter for a team that has aspirations of avenging their loss in February\u2019s Super Bowl. A healthy Alexander would be an upgrade for a secondary that didn\u2019t have a true replacement for L\u2019Jarius Sneed in 2024.<\/p>\n

Kansas City opened up a spot for another cornerback this week when they released veteran cornerback Robert Rochell. Packers fans might remember Rochell, as he played for Green Bay in 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs have an opening if they want to trade for Alexander. He might be a player for Kansas City to take a risk on before mandatory minicamp in June.<\/p>\n
