Despite once being close friends and spending holidays together, Swift and Lively now find themselves at odds over an escalating legal case.<\/p>\n

A viral Instagram post from Instagram commentator Katie Paulson may provide some insight into whether Swift backed away when things\u00a0heated up, and why they split:<\/p>\n

According to Paulson\u2019s post from April 2025, an unnamed source claimed the info came straight from a girls\u2019 trip involving Brittany Mahomes, wife of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, and several friends, including Swift.<\/p>\n

The source alleged that Brittany was passing around a partick larly sharp gossip: that Blake Lively may have tried to initiate an affair with Baldoni during filming.<\/p>\n

If true, that might explain Swift\u2019s decision to distance herself from Lively once legal tensions boiled over. The implication? Swift might have been the one who had shared the rumor initially.<\/p>\n

Though unconfirmed, this story adds fuel to the ongoing tension between Lively and Baldoni. What\u2019s clear is that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, launched serious legal claims against Baldoni, including accusations of inappropriate behavior on set and an alleged online smear campaign.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Despite the swirl of gossip, things appear to be smoothing over. A source close to Swift told\u00a0People<\/a><\/em>\u00a0that she felt blindsided by being pulled into the feud but never saw it as a permanent break.<\/p>\n
