The\u00a0Dodgers suffered a brutal walk-off loss to the Cubs\u00a0on Tuesday night after a dramatic extra-innings showdown at Wrigley Field.<\/p>\n

Dustin May gave up five runs in the first inning, then the Cubs tacked two more on, but the Dodgers worked their way back up to take a three-run lead by the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n

The Cubs chipped away at that lead courtesy of a two-run homer from Kyle Tucker, but the odds were still in the Dodgers’ favor at the bottom of the ninth, with Chicago down to their last out and LA’s $72 million closer on the mound in Tanner Scott.<\/p>\n

Miguel Amaya, former top prospect for the Cubs who\u00a0looked like he was shaping up to be a bust after his 2024 season, stepped up to the plate.<\/p>\n

Scott threw a slider to Amaya for a called strike one, but then he threw a meatball right down the heart of the zone. A\u00a097.3 MPH fastball was crushed and then was gone, tying the game and sending things to extras.<\/p>\n

That ball was deposited straight into the netting overhang above the center field ivy at Wrigley \u2014 without it, Tommy Edman probably could’ve made the catch.<\/p>\n

What’s more, its 388-foot distance made it a homer in exactly one ballpark. Infuriating.<\/p>\n
