{"id":55658,"date":"2025-04-24T06:40:57","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T06:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=55658"},"modified":"2025-04-24T06:41:29","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T06:41:29","slug":"chiefs-offer-notable-rashee-rice-injury-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=55658","title":{"rendered":"Chiefs Offer Notable Rashee Rice Injury Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"m-detail-header--dek\">The Kansas City Chiefs might have Rashee Rice back on the practice field in some capacity sooner rather than later.<\/div>\n<div class=\"m-detail-header--flexbox\">\n<div class=\"m-detail-header--meta\">\n<div class=\"m-description--list\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\/\">Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0receiver Rashee Rice was on pace to cruise past his rookie numbers in Year 2 as he hit the ground running with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/player\/patrick-mahomes\">Patrick Mahomes<\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>But just four games in, a nasty knee injury saw Rice be sidelined for the season, and left the Chiefs without their No. 1 weapon.<\/p>\n<p>Rice was on pace to have 1,224 yards in his second year before injury struck, and now, he&#8217;s on the comeback trail as the Chiefs begin their offseason work.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\" data-zone-count=\"4\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-placeholder\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-bfdf9472c06741bbb014ac0f71a853a9\">\n<p>However, being out for so long, what are the expectations for Rice once he gets on the field in 2025?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Expectations are high,&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gFsRa59kFHk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Mahomes said<\/a>. &#8220;He looks really good, he&#8217;s running routes, he&#8217;s catching the football. I don&#8217;t know when we get back into the actual OTAs how much he&#8217;ll be able to do, but he&#8217;s been able to do everything as far as running routes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/.image\/t_share\/MjA5NzcwOTA5NzUyMzcwNjQx\/usatsi_24369937.jpg\" alt=\"Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As Mahomes points out, exactly how involved Rice will be once OTAs come around is unknown, but we imagine he will be eased in as preparation for training camp beginning.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\" data-zone-count=\"4\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-placeholder\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-9edb2a6df9704f499096dd152b2554a4\">\n<p>Seen as the Chiefs&#8217; best offensive weapon, having a fully healthy Rice to pair with Xavier Worthy, who himself has quite the rookie season, will give Mahomes two dynamite options in the pass game.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, we haven&#8217;t mentioned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\/kansas-city-chiefs-travis-kelce-career-swap-lebron-james-new-heights-podcast-news-update\">Travis Kelce<\/a>, Marquise Brown, or Juju Smith-Schuster yet, either, so the offense looks to have some nice weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Rice was on pace to have two stellar seasons to begin his career, but now he must get himself healthy and ready to attack 2025 as he looks to bounce back and lead this offense to great heights.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, expectations for him in Year 3 are high.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please enable JS and disable any ad blocker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":55662,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-55658","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
