Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman look set to be subpoenaed this week in the latest awkward turn of events in the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.<\/p>\n

The A-listers were dragged into the increasingly toxic scuffle earlier this year after Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against her It Ends with Us costar in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a ‘hostile work environment on set.’<\/p>\n

Baldoni, 41, retaliated with his own $400 million filing against the actress, along with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, accusing the couple of trying to tarnish his reputation.<\/p>\n

The rancorous back-and-forth is scheduled for a trial on March 29, 2026. All parties have denied respective allegations.<\/p>\n

It is the latest development after the Daily Mail revealed Lively had quietly filed a lawsuit in September, months before her legal war with Baldoni became public, in an apparent effort to\u00a0get access to damning text messages from his publicist.<\/p>\n

The filing allowed her attorneys to issue a subpoena for the embarrassing texts and then drop the lawsuit, all without Baldoni’s team knowing it even existed.<\/p>\n

In screenshots of alleged text messages from Lively to Baldoni, Lively referred to Swift and Reynolds as her \u2018dragons.\u2019 The screenshots were part of Baldoni’s countersuit, filed in January.<\/p>\n

Baldoni accused Lively of enlisting Swift to ‘pressure’ him into letting her rewrite the script for It Ends With Us.<\/p>\n

One alleged message reads:<\/strong> ‘If you ever get around to watching Game Of Thrones, you’ll appreciate I’m Khaleesi, and, like her, I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better. <\/em><\/p>\n

Because my dragons also protect those I fight for.<\/p>\n

So really, we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.’<\/p>\n

Swift’s music also became a part of the legal tussle after Baldoni claimed Lively leveraged her friendship with the Grammy-winner to make sure her demands were met.<\/p>\n

According to Baldoni’s lawsuit, Lively threatened to withhold approval of the film trailer if she did not get extra time working on a cut of the movie with her own personal editor.<\/p>\n

He claimed Lively threatened to ‘change her mind’ about reaching out to Swift to secure the use of her hit 2020 track My Tears Ricochet.<\/p>\n

The track, which is from Swift\u2019s Folklore album, was eventually used in the trailer.<\/p>\n

An alleged text exchange with a Sony executive included in Baldoni\u2019s lawsuit read: ‘Blake is calling Taylor to approve the song.<\/p>\n

She of course just reached out saying she is asking for time with [REDACTED] her editor. We know it was conditional on signing contract \u2013 but asking if you will reconsider \u2013 so [REDACTED] can release this trailer and Blake does not change her me re calling Taylor Swift.’<\/p>\n

Baldoni noted in his complaint that they agreed to her demands in order to move forward as planned. The exchange allegedly took place in May 2024.<\/p>\n

Although not named in the lawsuits, Jackman is believed to have key insight into best friend Reynolds\u2019 involvement in the case.<\/p>\n

The duo starred together in the Marvel smash hit Deadpool and Wolverine, which Reynolds also co-wrote. Filming kicked off in May 2023, around the same time It Ends With Us was in production<\/p>\n

The film features Nicepool a character many viewers have taken to be a joke at Baldoni’s expense.<\/p>\n

Nicepool sported a man bun \u2013 a style Baldoni has worn in the past \u2013 and had dialogue referencing an affinity for social activism, another apparent nod at the actor.<\/p>\n

He also made comments about Lively’s Ladypool character and her pregnancy, which some took as another obvious reference to Baldoni.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s unlikely Hugh wasn’t aware of this,\u2019 a source previously told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

‘Not only this, but Hugh helped promote It Ends with Us in the same way that Taylor did when they did their group shot for the cross-promo with Deadpool. The timing of the premieres is also no coincidence,’ they added.<\/p>\n

Jackman supported It Ends With Us by attending the movie’s New York City premiere.<\/p>\n

If they are deposed, Swift and Jackman will be sworn in to answer questions under oath. Their answers will be recorded by a court reporter.<\/p>\n

Depositions are part of the pre-trial discovery process, where witnesses are questioned under oath.<\/p>\n

Jackman jokingly took a swipe at Reynolds during his gig at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Friday night.<\/p>\n

In video exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail, Jackman said he had the ‘time of my life’ shooting Deadpool and Wolverine, but added that his ‘one little gripe’ was being left out of the film’s musical number.<\/p>\n

‘Don’t tell Ryan,’ he joked.<\/p>\n

The friendly dig appears to show their friendship has survived the highly publicized legal roller coaster, possibly unlike Lively and Swift.<\/p>\n

The pair – who were last pictured together in October on a double date with Reynolds and Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce – are\u00a0believed to not be on speaking terms.<\/p>\n

Swift and Lively have been friends for a decade. Swift is the godmother of Lively’s daughters James, 10, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5.<\/p>\n
