Tottenham Hotspur have had a pretty difficult season amid injuries and inconsistency, and an eye is already being cast towards next season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Obviously Tottenham are still very much in the Europa League picture, having drawn with Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek, so there\u2019s still a lot to play for.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

However, Tottenham\u2019s Premier League campaign has been nothing short of a nightmare and, as such, the club will be eager to ensure a better season next time out.<\/p>\n

Now, David Ornstein has commented on an appointment Tottenham have made that \u201cwill be regarded by many as a coup\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ornstein reported on Tottenham\u2019s announcement involving Vinai Venkatesham, who will start work in the summer as Spurs\u2019 new CEO.<\/p>\n

Venkatesham spent 14 years at Tottenham\u2019s arch-rivals Arsenal, working in various capacities before being named CEO in 2020.<\/p>\n

Venkatesham left Arsenal at the end of the 2023-24 season, taking some time out of the game, though he continued to receive offers from inside and outside of football.<\/p>\n

Ornstein reported that Venkatesham will have responsibility for \u201call operations on\/off pitch\u201d and that he turned down \u201cother major jobs\u201d ahead of joining Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The appointment \u201cwill be regarded by many as a coup\u201d for Spurs, added Ornstein.<\/p>\n

What Vinai Venkatesham\u2019s appointment could mean for Tottenham<\/h2>\n

Venkatesham has enjoyed a fruitful career in and out of football.<\/p>\n

Aside from his Arsenal role, he was part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and is a non-executive director of the British Olympic Association.<\/p>\n

It is hoped that Venkatesham\u2019s appointment could provide some stability and direction to Tottenham after a tricky number of years.<\/p>\n

His appointment could also see a reshuffling in Tottenham\u2019s boardroom, with responsibilities being changed among its key members.<\/p>\n

As things stand, Daniel Levy is chairman, Scott Munn is in charge of all footballing departments, and Johan Lange is in charge of player recruitment.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Fabio Paratici\u2019s 30-month ban from football activity expires on 30 June this year.<\/p>\n

He has been able to work as a consultant over the past few years due to a successful appeal which reduced the scope of his ban, and has often been spotted at Spurs home games.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
