But she was stunned when Swift, fresh off her\u00a0Eras Tour\u00a0and one day before her 35th birthday, walked into her son\u2019s room on Thursday at Children\u2019s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo rumors. Like, we literally had absolutely no idea this was happening,\u201d Thomas recalled.<\/p>\n<p>Her 13-year-old son, Beckett Thomas, is a cancer patient and a fan of Swift\u2019s Kansas City Chiefs tight-end boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Beckett uses a 3D printer to make earrings bearing his and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes\u2019 names, walking around the hospital unit selling them to nurses.Now, Swift has a pair as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was amazing,\u201d Beckett\u2019s mom said. \u201cSo down to earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Taylor Swift makes surprise visit to Kansas City children's hospital\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/B40e7tWkst4\" width=\"820\" height=\"461\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another patient told Swift that her favorite song was \u201cLove Story\u201d and they later discussed the song \u201cPaper Rings,\u201d in which Swift sings, \u201cI\u2019d marry you with paper rings.\u201d When their conversation veered to discussion of San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy, whose team played the Chiefs in the Super Bowl earlier this year, Swift expressed surprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrock Purdy, What? I mean, I don\u2019t mind Brock Purdy.\u201d Swift said, then continued: \u201cHe put me through a lot last February.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked before the Super Bowl whether he was\u00a0prepared to disappoint Swift, Purdy responded: \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The game ended with Mahomes rallying the Chiefs to their second straight Super Bowl title, 25-22 over the 49ers in overtime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very stressed for a second but it all ended up fine,\u201d Swift told the girl, their recorded conversation posted online.<\/p>\n<p>The girl then chimed in: \u201cI like Travis now.\u201d Swift responded with: \u201cMe too.
