BALTIMORE \u2014 Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas has struggled early in the season, going just 2-for-21 (.095 batting average) with no runs, no RBIs, no extra-base hits, one walk and nine strikeouts.<\/p>\n

And so manager Alex Cora delivered a message to the 25-year-old in Spanish.<\/p>\n

\u201cI talked to him yesterday,\u201d Cora said before Boston\u2019s series finale against the Orioles here at Camden Yards on Thursday. \u201cI said, \u2018Bro, let\u2019s go.\u2018\u201d<\/p>\n

Cora said it in Spanish though.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe knows when I talk to him in Spanish, it means something,” Cora said. \u201cAnd he felt like he was actually being aggressive. And I was like, \u2018You look passive at the plate.\u2019 So just let it eat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cora said Casas\u2019 final at-bat Wednesday was a good one. He singled to center field on a 2-2 slider.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll get there,\u201d Cora said. \u201cWe know that. It\u2019s a process, especially with him. But I would like him to be more aggressive.”<\/p>\n

When a reporter mentioned there were more \u201cA-swings\u201d Wednesday and perhaps it had to do with the Spanish, Cora said, \u201cThe Spanish. I take credit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cora had said earlier in the week that Casas\u2019 struggles didn\u2019t have to do with swinging at pitches outside of the zone.<\/p>\n
