Grammy winner Taylor Swift is no stranger to making her songs and lyrics have special meaning with several “easter eggs,” as some call them, popping up in her songs.<\/p>\n
With Swift in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, many are subtly waiting for Taylor’s next album to feature the future Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n

Swift has done this quite regularly, and her friend, singer and songwriter Lucy Dacus, is now speaking out about when she found out she was going to be used in one of Taylor’s songs.<\/p>\n
Taylor Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, featured a girl named Lucy in a song called “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” with the lyrics referencing Lucy.<\/p>\n
In speaking with PEOPLE, Dacus revealed that Swift did ask her for permission to use her name in the song, but also said that listening to it for the first time was definitely an experience.<\/p>\n
“Well, I pushed play on the album just like, ‘Oh, this is so crazy,'” Dacus said.<\/p>\n
“This is the first Taylor record to come out since meeting her, and listening to a friend’s record feels so much different than a stranger’s record.
