Development has been the key word when it came to discussing Bronny James’ career trajectory since he got drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.<\/p>\n

He has had some stints with Coach JJ Redick and Co. on the main roster but it’s the USC Trojans alum’s NBA G League performances that have really caught people’s attention.<\/p>\n

Bronny James just dropped 39 points on the Santa Cruz Warriors during their March 25 matchup.<\/p>\n

Immediately after that, the South Bay Lakers sensation followed it up by dropping 17 points and dishing out nine assists.<\/p>\n

This came as a surprise to no one because the ex-USC player has been given a lot of opportunities to thrive in the NBA G League.<\/p>\n

In this second game of a back-to-back against the Warriors, the Lakers rookie played 35 minutes and it paid dividends.<\/p>\n

His stat line more than proved that because he also racked up six rebounds and two steals, per NBA G League Stats.<\/p>\n

There are still things that he needs to improve on. For instance, the Lakers rookie shot a horrendous 27.8% from the field.<\/p>\n

The bright spot was that his three-point shooting stood out and his outside stroke found the bottom of the net in 41.7% of his shot attempts.<\/p>\n

Overall, James looks like he is thriving with the NBA G League squad.<\/p>\n

He is averaging 22.4 points on a 46% field goal percentage while also dropping 5.1 assists, grabbing 5.2 rebounds, and getting two steals.<\/p>\n

South Bay will return to action on Friday when they will face the team at the bottom of the standings, the Iowa Wolves.<\/p>\n
