Avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan\u00a0Elizabeth Olsen\u00a0couldn\u2019t cheer as aggressively as she wanted to for her favorite team during the World Series \u2014 because she\u2019d just had a medical procedure done.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe characters on the Dodgers are so lovable,\u201d the\u00a0Marvel Cinematic Universe\u00a0alum, 36, shared on the Thursday, March 20, episode of\u00a0The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had the worst time when I was watching the World Series ’cause your team was so good,\u201d Fallon, a New York Yankees fan, told Olsen of the\u00a0Fall Classic, where the Dodgers beat the Yankees 4-1.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had just had a laparoscopy procedure,\u201d\u00a0The Assessment\u00a0star said, gesturing to her midsection before adding a reassuring, \u201cI’m fine. But I had that. And I was so bummed because it was in the middle of the World Series, and I’m a very aggressive cheerer at home, and I was so sad that I wasn’t gonna be able to do my normal, you know, jumping out of the sofa thing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery and involves inserting a thin tube with a video camera at the end through a small surgical opening in the abdomen,\u00a0Johns Hopkins Medicine\u00a0explains. Although Olsen didn\u2019t elaborate on why she had the procedure, it can be used to examine pelvic or abdominal organs, take biopsies or treat some illnesses.<\/p>\n

Following the procedure, abdominal pain is possible, and \u201cyou may be told to limit your physical activity for a few days\u201d \u2014 and for Olsen, that included aggressively cheering.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for the die-hard fan, the series went on long enough for her to resume her usually enthusiastic support.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just able to cheer by the time we got to the final game,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Fallon shared a photo of Olsen and her husband,\u00a0Robbie Arnett, sitting on her couch; she\u2019s clad in a white bathrobe \u2014 embroidered with \u201cGo Dodgers\u201d \u2014\u00a0 and he\u2019s wearing a team cap and shirt. Describing the picture, Olsen admitted, \u201cThat\u2019s not all of our merchandise.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0love that you’re so into it,\u201d Fallon said.<\/p>\n
