Travis Kelce’s next-door neighbor is sparking a discussion about the early days of the Kansas City Chiefs player’s relationship with Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n
Wes Bergmann, who is known to exaggerate his stories, sat down with hosts Michele Fitzgerald and Kellie Nalbandian on The Social Game Podcast for a February episode where he discussed his insider knowledge of the A-list couple.<\/p>\n
Weeks after Bergmann’s interview aired, however, he posted on X, clarifying his previous statements.<\/p>\n
“Omg y\u2019all I\u2019m so sorry and confused,” he wrote on March 4. “Everything being reported on is none of my business. My contribution to this was taken out of context and said in what I thought was relative obscurity, but it obviously wasn\u2019t.”<\/p>\n
“He moved in November, that\u2019s all I know. I told Michele, who is a giant fan, hey this is serious. She didn\u2019t believe me for six months. That was the intention of the comment.”<\/p>\n
“Again it was taken out of context but I shouldn\u2019t be talking about it anyway,” he concluded. “So consider this the last time I do.”<\/p>\n
During the podcast episode, Nalbandian said one of \u201cthe first things\u201d she learned about Bergmann, 41, before his appearance on the show was that he lives next to Kelce, 35.<\/p>\n
The Traitors<\/em> star then revealed that living in the exclusive gated community of Leawood in Kansas City, made him aware Kelce was dating the \u201cBad Blood\u201d singer, 35, months before it was revealed publicly.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe’s an enigma \u2014 on one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player,\u201d the two-time winner of The Challenge said of Kelce. \u201cOn the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The reality TV star claimed when he first told Survivor winner Fitzgerald that Kelce and Swift were dating he wasn\u2019t believed.<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay and on that note, I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff and I tried to tell this woman a long time ago,\u201d he said referring to Fitzgerald. ” \u2018They are together, just so you know\u2019 and she didn’t believe it.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe didn’t believe it, she was like \u2018she only goes for artists,\u2019 \u201d he continued. \u201cI beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fitzgerald chimed in, saying, \u201cShe loves a brooding artist, usually they are a bit scrawnier, they’re kind of like womanizers in a lot of ways. And then you have him who seems chivalrous, an all-American football player and he has just been winning and crushing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me he\u2019s the boy next door,\u201d Bergmann added as Nalbandian dubbed him the \u201cwinner of girly chat\u201d for being among the first to know Kelce and Swift were dating.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended Swift\u2019s Era tour on July 8, 2023, with rumors they were dating arising in the months after as the \u201cBlank Space\u201d singer was spotted attending some of his games.<\/p>\n
PEOPLE had confirmed that Swift and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy were \u201cno longer romantically involved\u201d on June 5, 2023, while Kelce previously dated fitness model Kayla Nicole.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t until October 2023 that Swift and Kelce\u2019s relationship was confirmed as they stepped out together at a Saturday Night Live<\/em> afterparty.<\/p>\n
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift shared with Time in December 2023. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I\u2019m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.
