\nThe Chiefs have multiple glaring holes on their roster which were exposed during the Super Bowl loss.<\/p>\n
However, the team doesn\u2019t have the means to fill many of those holes due to the financial situation they are in.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs already had very limited cap space this offseason, but now they are actually in the negative.<\/p>\n
Kansas City will need to find a way to clear over $15 million in cap space before they can make any moves in free agency.<\/p>\n
This is because the team decided to use the franchise tag on offensive guard Trey Smith.<\/p>\n
Smith is one of the best up and coming guards in the\u00a0NFL, and was set to leave the Chiefs in free agency.<\/p>\n
Instead of letting him walk or inking him to a long-term deal, the\u00a0Chiefs\u00a0used the franchise tag to keep him on the team for one more season.<\/p>\n
That tag cost $22 million though, and some fans are concerned with other position groups on the team.<\/p>\n
One fan specifically pointed out the wide receiver group that the Chiefs currently have on the roster.<\/p>\n
Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Marquise Brown are who make up that group.<\/p>\n

\nRice only had 288 yards in his sophomore season due to an injury early in the year.<\/p>\n
Xavier Worthy had a decent rookie season with 638 yards and six touchdowns.<\/p>\n
Brown only had 91 yards an no touchdowns after missing all but two games during the season.<\/p>\n
Clearly the wide receiver group on the Chiefs has some big question marks.<\/p>\n
The worst thing about this is that the Chiefs would be able to fix this problem if they had any money.<\/p>\n

There are multiple great wide receivers hitting free agency this year, but Kansas City likely can\u2019t afford any of them.<\/p>\n
Tee Higgins\u00a0is the best wide receiver hitting the market during the offseason.<\/p>\n
He is only 26 years old and has over 4,500 yards and 34 touchdowns in his five-year career.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Cincinnati Bengals\u00a0product will likely net a contract close to 30 million though, which the Chiefs don\u2019t have anywhere close to.<\/p>\n
