The Westchester tween who\u00a0The Post spotlighted for being a die-hard \u201cSwiftie\u201d\u00a0had her dreams come true at the pop superstar\u2019s concert at MetLife Stadium Sunday \u2013 when Taylor Swift knelt down and placed the fedora on her head while singing \u201c22.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt so special, happy, nauseous, shocked, excited,\u201d 12-year-old Grace DelVecchio, who has Down Syndrome, told The Post about the special moment.<\/p>\n

Prior to the DelVecchio family attending T-Swizzle\u2019s Eras Tour concerts on June 26 and 28, The Post and the DelVecchios reached out to Swift\u2019s public relations team several times to request a meet-and-greet with Grace\u2019s idol \u2013 but never received a response.<\/p>\n

So when Grace and her dad, Michael DelVecchio, were instructed by a security guard to go to the end of the ninth row where they were sitting, Michael initially didn\u2019t know what to think.<\/p>\n

\nBut within seconds, he realized that Swift was in the middle of singing \u201cEnchanted\u201d \u2013 the song that routinely came before \u201c22,\u201d during which Swift traditionally gives her fedora to an audience member.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew what was going to happen next because I\u2019ve read about it previously. I literally left our bags \u2013 I left our backpack, fanny pack, everything on the chair, because I was just like, \u2018I gotta go.\u2019 And they, like, secret-serviced us\u2026up front,\u201d Michael recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still feeling some of those goosebumps one week later\u2026I will never be able to duplicate something like that for her for the rest of our lives,\u201d he said with tears in his eyes.<\/p>\n

\nFor years, it had been Michael\u2019s goal to fulfill his daughter\u2019s dream of seeing Swift perform live. The father of two eventually secured\u00a0Eras Tour\u00a0tickets days before Christmas \u2013 after he was unable to get them during the\u00a0Nov. 15 presale, which made him feel like \u201cthe worst dad ever,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Jenn Sparano, Grace\u2019s speech-language pathologist teacher at Mildred E. Strang Middle School, was sitting in a different section of the stadium when she looked up to see Grace\u2019s face on the big screen.<\/p>\n

At that moment, \u201cI truly collapsed to the ground and was sobbing,\u201d Sparano said.<\/p>\n

\nTheresa DelVecchio, Grace\u2019s mom, immediately began receiving pictures of Grace on the big screen from people she hadn\u2019t spoken to in years who were at the concert, she said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s not a single person who told me they saw the video [of Taylor giving her hat to Grace] and didn\u2019t cry,\u201d Theresa said.<\/p>\n

\nOne of the best parts of the whole experience has been the outpouring of love for Grace from their Yorktown community, according to Sparano and the DelVecchios.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have loved watching everyone\u2019s interactions with Grace in the hallway this week\u2026Cheering for her, giving her hugs. Everyone is so excited for her,\u201d Sparano said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe just eats it up,\u201d Michael added.<\/p>\n

The DelVecchios have ordered a glass case \u2014 along with a hat stand \u2014 to preserve Swift\u2019s fedora for Grace.<\/p>\n
