And another common answer was free agent linebacker Nick Bolton.<\/p>\n<p>As were free agent defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and free agent guard Trey Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Although Jones has yet to reveal who he was talking about, his post certainly caused a stir, as usual. In just under seven hours, the remark has already drummed up 500K views, over 6.5K likes and nearly 500 reposts and quotes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Chiefs Have Several Unrestricted Free Agents in 2025 \u2014 &amp; Not All of Them Will Be Able to Join Chris Jones in Taking Care of \u2018Unfinished Business\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Odds are, Jones was talking about Kelce \u2014 who is one of the only KC teammates that has been with him since the start of his career (shout-out long snapper James Winchester) \u2014 but the fact that it could have been any number of people just shows how much work Chiefs general manager Brett Veach and company have ahead of themselves in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Over the Cap lists 28 Kansas City free agents as of February 25, 20 of which are unrestricted free agents.<\/p>\n<p>We all know the headliners by now \u2014 Smith, Bolton, safety Justin Reid, Wharton and a collection of veteran skill position players including DeAndre Hopkins, Kareem Hunt, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Samaje Perine, Justin Watson, Mecole Hardman and more.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of defensive pieces, Jones is also in danger of losing several D-line teammates. Along with Wharton, the aforementioned Omenihu, Mike Pennel, Derrick Nnadi, Joshua Uche and Marlon Tuipulotu are all set to hit the open market as well.<\/p>\n<p>Edge rusher Malik Herring is also a restricted free agent.<\/p>\n<p>That means even if Kelce and a couple of big names like Smith and Bolton do return in 2025, there will be several KC players that don\u2019t. Jones knows that though. After all, there\u2019s been a countless amount of roster turnover since his draft year in 2016.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Chiefs HC Andy Reid Says Chris Jones Is \u2018Doing Good\u2019 Following Injury-Ridden Super Bowl<\/h2>\n<p>Jones didn\u2019t have his best performance in Super Bowl 59, leaving the game twice with some noticeable discomfort.<\/p>\n<p>First, Jones was seen receiving some sort of treatment on his neck\/back following the initial \u201ctush push\u201d touchdown that Philadelphia scored, and then later he left due to a non-contact injury to the leg\/knee.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Reid was asked about Jones\u2019 status on February 25, being that the media has not really spoken to the Chiefs HC much since the big game, and the game wrecker\u2019s prognosis was positive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s doing good,\u201d Reid said of Jones.
