The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in five games, and it was the final matchup that was the most humiliating for the New York Yankees. Despite having a 5-0 lead over L.A. in Game 5 of the Fall Classic, the Bronx Bombers fell apart in an unforgettable defensive debacle.<\/p>\n
One of the Yankees\u2019 worst moments featured the organization\u2019s best and brightest star in Aaron Judge, who notoriously dropped a routine fly ball from utility man Tommy Edman.<\/p>\n
There has been quite the controversy surrounding whether some L.A. players have taken the trash talk too far after winning the World Series. For example, utility man Chris Taylor didn\u2019t mince words when he discussed the poor defense from the Yankees.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re all kind of thinking it \u2014 (the Yankees) kind of (crapped) down their leg,\u201d Taylor said.<\/p>\n
Many individuals from the New York organization, including manager Aaron Boone, discussed the trash talk from L.A. players.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey won,\u201d\u00a0Boone said on WFAN\u2019s Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata Show. \u201cThey had that right. A couple of people like saying some things. It\u2019s like, \u2018See what you did this year?\u2019 Like, it wasn\u2019t the Freddie Freemans and Shoheis and Mookies popping off. It was some others. They won the World Series. We didn\u2019t play our best, and they\u2019re flying high right now, so we\u2019ll try to get back to that stage and hopefully punch through.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yankees infielder Jon Berti also spoke on the Dodgers\u2019 trash talk, despite being left off the World Series roster.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve ever heard a World Series-winning team talk as badly as they did about the World Series-losing team,\u201d Berti said. \u201cIt felt like we were being disrespected to the point of we didn\u2019t even belong in the World Series.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe won a lot of games last year. We won our division. We went and took care of Kansas City and took care of Cleveland. So we deserved to be there, unfortunately, we didn\u2019t perform at our best.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, we ran into a team that played better than us in a seven-game series and they deserved to win,\u201d Berti added. \u201cSo I guess they can say whatever they want at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now, the face of the franchise has spoken. Aaron Judge broke his silence on the Dodgers\u2019 trash talk.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey won, they can say whatever they want,\u2019\u2019 Judge said, via\u00a0NorthJersey.com. \u201cIf you don\u2019t like it, you\u2019ve got to play better.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Although Judge\u2019s fielding error was a topic of conversation following the World Series, he appears to have accepted the inevitable slander that follows a championship loss. It\u2019s an impressive look from an impressive player.<\/p>\n
