Following the Chiefs\u2019 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles one week earlier, Kansas City\u2019s quarterback, 29, changed up his appearance, ditching his signature mohawk for something more high and tight.<\/p>\n

Mahomes\u2019 curly hair was visible on social media on Monday, February 17, when a photo surfaced. The location of the photo is unclear:<\/p>\n

He\u2019s said he wanted to do it for a while\u2026 I can\u2019t believe he really did it! RIP iconic Mohawk and the signature \u2018Mahomes\u2019 hairstyle.<\/p>\n

For some, Mahomes\u2019 haircut wasn\u2019t a huge shock, given that he\u2019d previously teased the idea. In February 2024, Mahomes appeared on\u00a0The Pat McAfee Show, and said that he was ready to make a big change to his appearance.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s gone this offseason I promise y\u2019all,\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cI almost did it today and just came on today with it. I\u2019ve got to do something.\u201d As for why he did it, Mahomes said he simply couldn\u2019t keep up with it anymore.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a 3-year-old at home. I can\u2019t just keep the mohawk going. At least change it up a little bit,\u201d he told McAfee at the time, referring to his daughter, Sterling, whom he shares with wife\u00a0Brittany Mahomes.
