{"id":33494,"date":"2025-02-14T09:01:14","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T09:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=33494"},"modified":"2025-02-14T09:01:14","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T09:01:14","slug":"breaking-chiefs-coach-makes-concerning-admission-about-qb-patrick-mahomes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=33494","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Chiefs Coach Makes Concerning Admission About QB Patrick Mahomes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0have arguably the\u00a0best quarterback\u00a0in the\u00a0NFL\u00a0in\u00a0Patrick Mahomes, and most coaches would trade places in a heartbeat for the opportunity to coach him.<\/p>\n<p>But the 29-year-old QB struggled in the team\u2019s 40-22 blowout loss to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0in\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a059 in New Orleans, putting forth one of his worst efforts of the season (257 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, six sacks taken).<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\" data-zone-count=\"5\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-placeholder\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-74c4716085974c408aa906d719f31ba2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Most agree that Sunday\u2019s outing wasn\u2019t indicative of a typical Mahomes performance. And while head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy feel the weight of putting Mahomes in position to be successful every week, passing game coordinator Joe Bleymaier also feels some pressure in coaching Mahomes.<\/p>\n<p>Two years into his tenure working directly with Mahomes, Bleymaier recently made some concerning comments to ESPN about what it\u2019 like working with the two-time NFL MVP.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\" data-zone-count=\"5\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-placeholder\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-ee30f54adf9a4860af7e1c5f649a5b4c\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201c[Mahomes\u2019 success] makes [coaching him] so much more stressful,\u201d\u00a0Bleymaier said. \u201cYou feel the burden as a coach and as you&#8217;re putting a game plan together to not waste his abilities. To not go through a season where you don&#8217;t give him the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo not screw it up as the coaching staff. Rebilas-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bleymaier also confessed he\u2019s in a \u201cconstant\u201d state of second-guessing himself, stating he often questions if he and the rest of the coaches are using Mahomes properly and surrounding him with the right talent.<\/p>\n<p>Given Kansas City hasn\u2019t missed playing in an AFC Championship Game since Mahomes took over as the starter in 2018, many Chiefs fans took to social media to put Bleymaier on blast for complaining about working with a\u00a0quarterback\u00a0many believe is a generational talent.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\" data-zone-count=\"5\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-placeholder\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-cba30dd1618f4ada8274b75b03d29673\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI genuinely am baffled that a coach would admit this mentality. Either you coach to win or you coach not to lose, and coaching not to lose is operating based in fear.
