Travis Kelce<\/strong>\u2019s dad,\u00a0Ed Kelce<\/strong>, loves how\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u00a0is down-to-earth at Kansas City Chiefs football games despite being a famous pop star.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery game there\u2019s people crowding outside the front of that suite trying to get a glimpse of Taylor, wanting to meet Taylor,\u201d Ed told the\u00a0Los Angeles Times\u00a0<\/i>on Saturday, February 10 ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, which he is expected to attend. \u201cTaylor\u2019s very gracious, but she can\u2019t do everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cAnd she\u2019s got security guys who don\u2019t want her doing anything. That\u2019s their job and she\u2019s smart enough to know, \u2018I\u2019m paying these guys to keep me safe. I should probably listen to them.\u2019 But if it was up to her she\u2019d be out there with everyone who wants her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Swift, 34, has been dating Ed\u2019s youngest son, 34-year-old Travis, since summer 2023. After several months of privately getting to know one another, the 14-time Grammy winner went to Travis\u2019 Chiefs game for the first time in September 2023.<\/p>\n
Swift has since gone to 11 more of Travis\u2019 football games \u2014 the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, which she is presumed to attend, would be lucky No. 13 \u2014 and bonded with his family from her perch in a private suite.<\/p>\n
Swift first met Ed, who shares Travis and eldest son\u00a0Jason Kelce<\/strong>\u00a0with ex-wife\u00a0Donna Kelce<\/strong>, ahead of one Chiefs\u2019 home game last fall.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cTaylor walks [into Travis\u2019 house] with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend], \u2018Oh my God, I know this kid, but I don\u2019t know what her name is. Jeez, you know, like a real idiot,\u2019\u201d Ed recalled during a January appearance on Audacy\u2019s 92.3 The Fan radio show in Cleveland. \u201cAnd [my girlfriend] says, \u2018You don\u2019t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Swift and Ed were among Travis\u2019 inner circle to gather at his house before a shuttle transported them to the team\u2019s home Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri to watch the game.<\/p>\n
Ed has enjoyed getting to know Swift in the suite, telling the\u00a0L.A. Times\u00a0<\/i>that she quickly proved to be \u201csmart, grounded and a shrewd businesswoman.\u201d He even went back to watch the commencement address that Swift gave during New York University\u2019s 2022 graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n
\u201cListening to that, you get a much better sense of who this young woman is, as opposed to the social media blurbs and the gossip,\u201d Ed quipped to the\u00a0Times<\/i>. \u201cThat\u2019s all celebrity stuff.
