The Celtics might have their sights on trying to become the first NBA team in seven years to win back-to-back titles on the court.<\/p>\n

But off the hardwood, the Celtics are also in a state of transition \u2014 with the franchise currently up for sale and in the process of accepting bids from interested parties.<\/p>\n

According to The Boston Globe<\/em>, Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca, Celtics limited partner Robert Hale, and Mark Bezos have all expressed interest in buying the team \u2014 while Boston native and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie downplayed talk that he was interested in the bidding on Monday.<\/p>\n

While it remains to be seen how the Celtics\u2019 ongoing sale will play out, Jaylen Brown told reporters in Cleveland what he\u2019s looking for from the team\u2019s ownership group moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope they have like either a trust or just a reliance on people who have knowledge of the game,\u201d Brown told reporters in Cleveland, including MassLive\u2019s Souichi Terada. \u201cKeep the emphasis on winning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know business is a part of the overall viewpoint of ownership. But winning is important, as well. So hope that is maintained, like, the view on winning. We\u2019ve done nothing but that since I\u2019ve been here is winning. Hopefully the new ownership understands and respects that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite early rumors of a deep-pocketed figure like Jeff Bezos being involved in the bidding process, a winning bid from an investment group headlined by Pagliuca and Hale would likely offer the most stability as far as transitioning from the Grousbeck family to a new leadership group.<\/p>\n

Pagliuca has served as a co-owner and managing general partner of the Celtics since the current ownership group took over the team in 2002. Just hours after Wyc Grousbeck announced plans to sell the team on July 1, Pagliuca released a statement expressing interest in remaining with the franchise moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlong with the championships, we are most proud of the growth of our community impact efforts and the dedication of the investor group, coaches, players and staff to helping community members who are in need,\u201d Pagliuca noted in the statement. \u201cBeing a co-investor and Managing Partner of the Celtics has been a great honor and a labor of love.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to be part of the Celtics moving forward and will be a proud participant in the bidding process that has been announced today.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the Grousbeck family and the rest of Boston\u2019s top brass weigh their options when it comes to bids, Brown spoke highly of Pagliuca and his commitment to building a winning franchise in Boston.<\/p>\n

\u201cPags has been around,\u201d Brown told Terada. \u201cPags is someone who understands where we come from and somebody that I think respects winning.
