The Kansas City Chiefs are busy preparing for Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/p>\n

As the Chiefs continue to focus on maximizing their current roster, one NFL writer’s projections have linked coach Andy Reid’s team to a former top five draft pick as a potential project for one of the NFL’s brightest offensive coaches.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs’ depth chart currently lists Carson Wentz as Patrick Mahomes’ primary backup, but the Chiefs could switch gears on the fly this offseason by bringing in an athletic young quarterback with a potentially high ceiling.<\/p>\n

NFL writer Cody Benjamin projected that the Chiefs may take a shot at former Jets starter and current Broncos backup Zach Wilson. “Kansas City has cycled through veteran No. 2s behind Patrick Mahomes,” Benjamin wrote.<\/p>\n

“Wilson once drew lofty comparisons to Mahomes’ backyard play style. The ex-Jets could make for an Andy Reid project,” Benjamin added.<\/p>\n

The Broncos did not pick up Wilson’s fifth-year contract option last April.<\/p>\n
