The 2025\u00a0BRIT Award\u00a0nominations are here and many are buzzing over the nominations.<\/p>\n

The nominations were unveiled on Jan. 23 and\u00a0Charli XCX\u00a0leads the list with five nominations, including an Album of the Year nod for her acclaimed\u00a0Brat<\/em>\u00a0album.\u00a0Dua Lipa\u00a0is another major nominee at this year\u2019s award show, having been nominated for each of her three albums including her most recent one,\u00a0Radical Optimism<\/em>.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

In a surprise turn,\u00a0The Cure\u00a0received a major comeback at the awards show having been nominated for the first time in 30 years. Their album,\u00a0Songs in a Lost World<\/em>, is up for Album of the Year and was met with acclaim upon its release last year.<\/p>\n

Another notable surprise was former\u00a0Little Mix\u00a0member Jade being nominated, scoring two nominations for Best Pop Act and her song \u201cAngel of My Dreams\u201d was nominated for Song of the Year.<\/p>\n

Notably absent from a major category was\u00a0Taylor Swift, whose album\u00a0The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>\u00a0was nowhere to be found in the list of nominations for Album of the Year despite it being the biggest album in the United Kingdom last year.\u00a0The Official Charts Company\u00a0ranked it as No. 1 on their year-end list of the biggest album, coming above such projects as\u00a0Brat<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Radical Optimism<\/em>\u00a0which both scored nominations in the field.<\/p>\n
