KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A critical piece of the Kansas City Chiefs defense will return to action on Saturday against the Houston Texans.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs announced Friday that cornerback Jaylen Watson has been activated from injured reserve, paving the way for him to play Saturday in the AFC Divisional round.<\/p>\n

With Watson in the lineup earlier in the season, Kansas City\u2019s defense ranked No. 1 in the league in DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average). Without him, Kansas City\u2019s defense slipped to 24th in DVOA in the NFL from Weeks 9-13.<\/p>\n

Watson broke his ankle in a Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He practiced fully in all three of Kansas City\u2019s practices this week, the team said on its injury report.<\/p>\n

While the Chiefs will get Watson back in action, wide receiver Mecole Hardman will not play against Houston. Hardman, who caught the walk-off touchdown pass in overtime of last season\u2019s Super Bowl, has been ruled out due to a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Hardman had his 21-day practice window opened as he remains on injured reserve. He last played in a Black Friday game against the Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs also said Friday they activated practice squad linebacker Swayze Bozeman and safety Deon Bush via standard elevation.<\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s game between the Chiefs and Texans will kick off at 3:30 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
