PROVIDENCE, RI \u2014 The Boston Celtics honored a Rhode Island boy as a “Hero Among Us” for saving his father’s life.<\/p>\n

\n

Kingston resident Nova Nascenzi, 8, received the honor during the Boston Celtics home game against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 31.<\/p>\n

“When 8-year-old Nova Nascenzi heard his typically calm dogs barking erratically, he knew something was wrong,” a Boston Celtics spokesperson said. “Rushing outside to investigate, Nova discovered his dad was hurt and unconscious on the ground after falling from the roof while working. Acting quickly, Nova retrieved his dad\u2019s phone and called 911. He then tended to his dad\u2019s injuries until emergency services arrived.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
