Kayla Nicole has been open about the backlash she\u2019s received amid her ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce\u2019s romance with Taylor Swift, and she revealed her true thoughts about the pop star during her time on Special Forces: The World\u2019s Toughest Test<\/i>.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, January 8, episode of the Fox series, Kayla, 33, revealed to fellow contestants Alana Blanchard<\/strong> and Kyla Pratt<\/strong> that she previously dated Travis, 35. She then added that he\u2019s currently \u201cdating Taylor Swift.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing through a public breakup, just to be frank, it’s been overwhelming,\u201d Kayla \u2013 who dated Travis for five years before their split in 2022 \u2013 explained. \u201cI’ve never experienced anything like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite admitting that the split was difficult to navigate in the public eye, Kayla insisted that she has no issues with Taylor, 35, who began dating the Kansas City Chiefs athlete in the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really like, like, her,\u201d Kayla said about Taylor. \u201cI think she\u2019s very talented.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later on in the episode, Kayla addressed the \u201csocial media battlefield\u201d she has faced in light of her ex\u2019s current relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty constant and exhausting,\u201d the Los Angeles native said about the backlash. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter, I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It\u2019s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kayla continued through tears, \u201cI think there\u2019s just the comparison and it\u2019s just like on loop. I think I\u2019m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latest episode of Special Forces isn\u2019t the first time that Kayla has discussed the backlash she\u2019s received on social media due to her past romance with Travis.<\/p>\n

The topic previously came up when she appeared on an October 2024 episode of the \u201cUnapologetically Angel\u201d podcast . \u201cI would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just like online chaos doesn\u2019t impact me. It does,\u201d she told host and WNBA star Angel Reese<\/b>. \u201cYou could go to my most recent post, and there will be people debating each other why I am worthless, and I\u2019ll never be a talented person, and I have no career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kayla continued, \u201cI think that there\u2019s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, and it\u2019s unfortunate, because I\u2019ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.\u201d<\/p>\n

She has been trying to make the most of the situation, and previously revealed that the backlash helped prepare her for her stint on Special Forces<\/i>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say I\u2019m the opposite of being afraid of what people are going to see. I\u2019m actually excited for people to see us stripped down, raw, vulnerable,\u201d she told Page Six about competing on the show in December 2024. \u201cI think people in general, the general public, need to be reminded that we\u2019re all humans, right? We all have very real emotions. And I\u2019m excited about that element [of] allowing us to be humans.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that the negative response from fans \u201cput things in full perspective\u201d for her that \u201csocial media is literally just that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSocial media, words on the internet and experiences like this put life into perspective,\u201d Kayla continued. \u201cLike, there\u2019s people in the real world that are doing this on a daily basis to save lives.
