It\u2019s been just over a week since former NFL star and Fox Sports analyst\u00a0Michael Vick accepted the head coaching job\u00a0at Norfolk State University.<\/p>\n

Vick, a Newport News, Virginia native, is returning close to home to reconnect with the game.<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old enjoyed a standout NFL career, earning four Pro Bowl selections while playing for the Atlanta Falcons,\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers.<\/p>\n

While quarterbacking the Eagles from 2009-12, he played under current\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0head coach Andy Reid. The two built a bond as every head coach-quarterback duo does, but it\u2019s evident theirs continued throughout the years as they went their separate ways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During Sunday\u2019s \u201cFOX NFL Kickoff\u201d show, the crew surprised Vick with a heartfelt video message from Reid. The Chiefs\u2019 head coach congratulated his former quarterback on his new role.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael Vick, the new head coach of Norfolk State,\u201d Reid said. \u201cMan, is that school lucky to have you. You\u2019re going to do a great job. Those kids are fortunate to have you, and probably most of all to learn from. And you\u2019ll be awesome. You\u2019ll be great for the university. And I love you, and I know you\u2019re going to do a great job for them. So all the best going forward, and I\u2019m now a Norfolk fan.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
