Now at 15-1, the Chiefs are in the favorable position of being able to rest their star players in the Week 18 clash against the Denver Broncos beginning their postseason assault on the Super Bowl.<\/div>\n

The Kansas City Chiefs continued to roll after a 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC as a result.<\/p>\n

Now at 15-1, the Chiefs are in the favorable position of being able to rest their star players in the Week 18 clash against the Denver Broncos beginning their postseason assault on the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

And after playing three games in 11 days, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and many of his peers will play zero games in the next 25 days<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the rumor being reported by PFT – that the Chiefs will rest key starters in their Week 18 game at Denver.<\/p>\n

That has been the expectation from coach Andy Reid. \u2026 and it\u2019s good news for both some of the banged-up KC guys (including Mahomes and his ankle).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also good news for the Broncos, who will catch a break from their arch-rivals.<\/p>\n

The Broncos need to win next Sunday to make it to the playoffs for the first time since Super Bowl 50.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the news creates a problem for the Bengals, Colts, and Dolphins, who need Denver to lose for them to make the postseason.<\/p>\n

Of course, \u201crest vs. rust\u201d will be a debate among observers of the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

But they are the No. 1 seed. They will set up camp at Arrowhead Stadium throughout the playoffs.<\/p>\n
