<\/p>\nThe Los Angeles Dodgers have been quite active this offseason. First, they signed ace Blake Snell to a massive deal before turning around and extending infielder Tommy Edman’s contract.<\/p>\n

A little while later, they signed outfielder Michael Conforto and re-signed reliever Blake Treinen.<\/p>\n
Treinen acted as the team’s closer in the postseason, but the Dodgers may want to add more pitchers around him at the back end of games.<\/p>\n
Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic recently reported the Dodgers are far from done adding to the bullpen. In fact, the Dodgers’ targeted relievers indicate Treinen won’t be returning to Los Angeles as the closer.<\/p>\n
Ardaya has indicated the Dodgers are targeting rival closer Tanner Scott of the San Diego Padres.<\/p>\n
Spotrac projects Scott to sign a four-year, $65 million contract. “The reigning World Series champions seek at least one more reliever, league sources tell The Athletic, and are looking at the top of that market.<\/p>\n
That includes but is not limited to interest in free-agent lefty Tanner Scott, league sources said,” Ardaya wrote.<\/p>\n
“Scott, who was ranked as the top available free agent reliever on The Athletic’s Free Agent Big Board, is coming off a dominant two-year stretch in which he posted a 2.04 ERA and struck out 188 batters in 150 innings.<\/p>\n
The Dodgers expressed interest in trading for Scott at last year’s trade deadline before the Miami Marlins traded him to the San Diego Padres for four players in what was perceived as a haul.” Scott would be a huge addition for the Dodgers.<\/p>\n
Evan Phillips and Treinen were great at the backend of games for Los Angeles, but why not add even more talent if it’s available?<\/p>\n
Ardaya also mentioned Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams as a potential trade option, but the Brewers are unlikely to move him until the 2025 MLB trade deadline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
