Kansas City placed a veteran wideout on injured reserve, replacing him with a second-year practice squad player.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0used their official\u00a0X<\/em> account to\u00a0announce two roster moves,\u00a0along with the elevation of two practice squad players for the team\u2019s Week 14 matchup against the\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers\u00a0on \u201cSunday Night Football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wide receiver Mecole Hardman \u2014 who had been\u00a0listed as questionable for Sunday\u2019s game\u00a0after suddenly being held out of practice on Friday \u2014 has been placed on the team\u2019s Reserve\/Injured list.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis knee locked up on him,\u201d said head coach Andy Reid of Hardman when he met with reporters on Friday afternoon, \u201cso we\u2019re evaluating it right now. This was after \u2014 right after our meeting \u2014 before we got on the field. So, we\u2019ll just see where he\u2019s at with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hardman must miss at least four games before he will be eligible to return \u2014 meaning the earliest he could be back is the Week 18 game against the\u00a0Denver Broncos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To fill Hardman\u2019s roster spot, the Chiefs have activated wide receiver Nikko Remigio to the 53-man roster. We already know that special teams coordinator Dave Toub likes the second-year wideout as a returner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, Nico did a great job,\u201d said Toub after Kansas City\u2019s second preseason game last August. \u201cI\u2019d be pounding the table for that guy; I love him.\u201d<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s pretty likely that Remigio will not only take Hardman\u2019s roster spot but also his\u00a0role<\/em>: a returner who occasionally gets an offensive snap.<\/p>\n

The team also elevated practice squad linebacker Swayze Bozeman and tight end Baylor Cupp for Sunday night\u2019s game. Both of them will automatically be returned to the practice squad on Monday.<\/p>\n
