After 152 dates across 54 cities and five continents, some 7,000 songs, more than $2 billion in ticket sales, countless friendship bracelets and dozens of A-list attendees, Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras Tour<\/em> will finally come to a close on December 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been an eventful nearly two-year ride for Swift. Professionally, she reached new heights: Her October 2023 documentary, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/em> (which she produced), became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, and she won two Grammy Awards \u2014 bringing her grand total to 14 \u2014 in February. Her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>, broke streaming records following its April release and remains the bestselling album of 2024. Amid many highs, there were a few notable lows: Last November, a Brazilian fan died of heat exhaustion during Swift\u2019s Rio de Janeiro stop, and in August, she was forced to cancel three shows in Austria over terrorist threats.<\/p>\n

She had much to celebrate in her personal life after finding love with NFL star Travis Kelce<\/strong> last summer. Their sweet romance was on full display: The 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended multiple tour stops and even joined Swift on stage for a performance of \u201cI Can Do It with a Broken Heart\u201d in June. \u201cIt can be very lonely at the top,\u201d says a source. \u201cThis tour was one of the best [for Taylor] because Travis brightened it up.\u201d<\/p>\n

So what lies ahead for Swift at the end of this monumental era? With the tour concluding and her milestone birthday coming up on December 13, the singer is now at a crossroads. There are whispers about when (and if) she and Kelce will get engaged and start a family, and Swifties are clamoring to find out when she\u2019ll record her next album (Taylor\u2019s Versions of Reputation<\/em> and Taylor Swift<\/em> have yet to be released) and how long it will be before she tours again. Here, Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s latest cover story delves into her future plans.<\/p>\n

Will She Get Engaged?<\/h3>\n

After more than a year of dating, Swift and Kelce have talked about the next steps. A second source tells Us<\/em> that while they\u2019d both \u201clove to be engaged,\u201d it\u2019s a matter of timing, noting that they \u201caren\u2019t rushing it.\u201d The first source says Swift likes to take things slow when it comes to relationships (her previous romance with actor Joe Alwyn<\/strong> lasted six years before their April 2023 split). \u201cTaylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style,\u201d says the first source. \u201cThat\u2019s just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next few months will be a good test for them and mark the first time they\u2019ll be together for an extended period. (The NFL regular season ends in early January, when playoffs begin.) \u201cTaylor plans to stay in and hibernate [with Travis] for a while,\u201d says the second source, noting that they will also spend time in NYC, where Swift has a luxe apartment. \u201cThey want to do \u2018normal things\u2019 as a couple.\u201d Adds the first source: \u201cTaylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that\u2019s when] the little nuances about someone\u2019s personality and habits come into play. They will learn so much about each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no question her friends and family are on board with a proposal. Their parents have become especially close: Kelce\u2019s mom, Donna<\/strong> (along with his brother, Jason<\/strong>, and Jason\u2019s wife, Kylie<\/strong>), attended Swift\u2019s October 18 show in Miami; Swift\u2019s mom, Andrea<\/strong>, hit up Kelce\u2019s November 10 Chiefs game. \u201cThey\u2019re very intertwined,\u201d says the second source. \u201c[It feels] as if they\u2019ve been a part of each other\u2019s [lives] for years. It\u2019s been seamless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Does She Want to Start a Family?<\/h3>\n

She\u2019s a doting cat mom and godmother to three of pal Blake Lively<\/strong>\u2019s kids, but the first source says Swift doesn\u2019t have babies on the brain \u2014 at least not yet. \u201cShe\u2019s not considering kids right now because of her career,\u201d the source says, adding, \u201cTaylor and Travis are both so busy.\u201d Besides football, Kelce has branched out into acting with roles in the FX series Grotesquerie<\/em> and the upcoming Happy Gilmore<\/em> sequel (he also hosts Amazon\u2019s game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?<\/em>). The second source tells Us<\/em> the subject has come up, but they don\u2019t have a timeline. \u201cTaylor would love to be a mom in the next few years,\u201d the source says, noting that Swift and Kelce are often on the same page. \u201cThey\u2019re very humble and family-oriented. That\u2019s why [their relationship] works so well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Is She Taking an Extended Break from Touring?<\/h3>\n

If anyone deserves some rest, it\u2019s Swift. \u201cTaylor\u2019s exhausted,\u201d says the second source. \u201cShe\u2019s excited for some relaxation and downtime.\u201d According to the source, the singer will likely celebrate her 35th birthday in NYC (last year, she toasted with celeb pals, including Jack Antonoff, Gigi Hadid, Gracie Abrams<\/strong> and Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/strong>, and high school bestie Abigail Anderson<\/strong> at downtown hotspot The Box). \u201cShe loves a quaint party with her closest friends,\u201d the source says, adding, \u201cTaylor is excited about turning 35. She knows she\u2019s accomplished so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first source says Swift plans on hosting Christmas with her and Kelce\u2019s families and wants to start the New Year on a low-key, restful note. Then she\u2019ll get to work on a new album and is talking about hitting the road again \u2014 albeit on a smaller scale than the Eras Tour<\/em> \u2014 in 2026. \u201cShe had such a great experience on Eras<\/em>. She really wants to do it again,\u201d says the first source. \u201cShe loves being with all her fans; it inspires her.\u201d Still, Swift\u2019s not committing to anything just yet. \u201cThings can change. A lot of it hinges on what happens over the next year with Travis,\u201d says the source. \u201cShe\u2019s told her team to give her one year to see how things go in her personal life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will She Change Up Her Musical Style?<\/h3>\n

In her December 2023 Time<\/em> magazine Person of the Year cover, Swift addressed the fickle nature of fame, saying, \u201cNothing is permanent. So I\u2019m very careful to be grateful every second that I get to be doing this at this level.\u201d But in a year where up-and-comers like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan<\/strong> and Tate McRae<\/strong> dominated, while more established acts like Dua Lipa, Justin Timberlake<\/strong> and Jennifer Lopez<\/strong> didn\u2019t fare quite as well, Swift was the exception. \u201cTaylor and her team continually make consistently great pop music,\u201d former Sony Music exec and Managing Director of Strat Americas Seth Schachner<\/strong> tells Us<\/em>. \u201cTaylor has the goods with hooks and great production and songwriting.\u201d As for whether she should experiment with her sound to stay relevant, Schachner says if it ain\u2019t broke, don\u2019t fix it. \u201cI don\u2019t see her changing the production of her sound radically. A Taylor Swift reggae or metal release are not likely scenarios. She\u2019s a very prolific artist. She doesn\u2019t need to reinvent herself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who Will Stay in Her Inner Circle?<\/h3>\n

Since coupling up with Kelce, Swift has gotten tighter with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds<\/strong>. \u201cTaylor has always been close to Blake, but now they are doing couples things together, like double dates, and it\u2019s helped Travis and Ryan form a bond,\u201d says the first source. (The foursome was spotted grabbing dinner in Manhattan on October 11.) \u201cRyan and Travis are good friends and chat regularly.\u201d Swift is also embracing her fellow WAGs, including Patrick Mahomes<\/strong>\u2019 wife, Brittany<\/strong>, and Chariah Gordon<\/strong>, who\u2019s engaged to wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr.<\/strong> Gordon recently told Glamour<\/em> that Swift hand knitted a baby blanket for her 7-month-old daughter and called the gesture \u201cso freaking cute and so thoughtful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Does She Want to Be More Private?<\/h3>\n

Gone are the days when Swift went to extreme lengths to hide from the paparazzi and dodged questions about her dating life. \u201cTravis and Taylor are totally in love, and they don\u2019t care what other people think,\u201d a source told Us<\/em> in September. In her Time<\/em> interview, Swift admitted she\u2019s become less guarded overall \u2014 and it looks like she\u2019ll stay that way. \u201cYes, if I go out to dinner, there\u2019s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends. Life is short,\u201d she explained. \u201cMe locking myself away in my house for a lot of years \u2014 I\u2019ll never get that time back. I\u2019m more trusting now than I was six years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will She Branch Out in Her Career?<\/h3>\n

Swift also self-published The Eras Tour Book<\/em> in November. As with Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/em> movie \u2014 which she released without a studio as the middle man \u2014 she\u2019s in charge.
