John Fetterman was left amazed by Donald Trump’s impact in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
The battleground state’s senator likened the former president to the hype surrounding Taylor Swift while predicting that Elon Musk’s endorsement is \u201cgoing to really matter.\u201d The 55-year-old made the remarks during a Saturday interview with the New York Times.<\/p>\n
Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman \u2018astonished\u2019 by Trump’s impact in battleground state<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a difference between not understanding, but also acknowledging that it exists and anybody who spends time driving around, and you can see the intensity. It\u2019s astonishing,\u201d Fetterman said of Trump’s campaign appearance in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n \u201cI was doing an event in Indiana County. Very, very red. And there was a superstore of Trump stuff, and it was a hundred feet long,\u201d he went.<\/p>\n The Democratic senator continued to say, \u201c[There were] dozens of T-shirts and hats and bumper stickers and all kinds of, I mean, it\u2019s like, Where does this all come from? It\u2019s the kind of thing that has taken on its own life.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was almost like Taylor Swift kind of swag. It\u2019s like of everything. It wasn\u2019t just a sign. It\u2019s the kinds of thing that has taken on its own life on that. And it\u2019s like something very special exists there. And that doesn\u2019t mean that I admire it,\u201d he went on, adding, \u201cAnd now [Elon] Musk is joining him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Fetterman noted that the Tesla CEO’s endorsement of the former president is a game changer for him in the November election.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, to a lot of people, that\u2019s Tony Stark. That\u2019s the world\u2019s richest guy. And he\u2019s obviously, and undeniably, a brilliant guy, and he\u2019s saying, Hey, that\u2019s my guy for president. That\u2019s going to really matter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He went on to explain that he was \u201calarmed\u201d at first by Musk’s presence during Trump’s campaign trail, adding that the SpaceX founder is a \u201cbigger star than Trump\u201d in \u201csome sense.\u201d \u201cEndorsements, they\u2019re really not meaningful often, but this one is, I think.
