Reports indicate the victim suffered serious leg injuries after being shot twice and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Police believe two individuals arrived at the scene on a Sur-ron electric bike before the attack took place.<\/p>\n<h3>Police Action Across Merseyside<\/h3>\n<p>On Thursday, February 19, officers executed coordinated warrants across Knowsley, Sefton and Liverpool. Four men were arrested as part of the operation.<\/p>\n<p>Among those charged is 32-year-old Patrick Sean Lacey, a former midfielder who previously played for Accrington Stanley and spent time in the youth systems of Manchester United and Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>He now faces multiple charges, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attempted murder<\/li>\n<li>Conspiracy to murder<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a shotgun and ammunition with intent to endanger life<\/li>\n<li>Grievous bodily harm (Section 18)<\/li>\n<li>Conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three other men \u2014 Johan Aaron Jones (35), John George Patrick Hughes (31), and Bernard Flynn (61) \u2014 have also been charged with the same offences.<\/p>\n<p>All four are scheduled to appear before Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens Adult Remand Court.<\/p>\n<h3>From Football to the Ring \ud83e\udd4a<\/h3>\n<p>Lacey began his career at Tranmere Rovers before progressing through academy setups at Manchester United and Liverpool. He later featured for clubs including Chester, Altrincham, Barrow, Accrington Stanley, Southport, and Flint Town.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, he also stepped into professional boxing during his sporting career, recording 10 wins and just one defeat. Earlier this year, he lost on points to Jack Swallow.<\/p>\n<h3>Investigation Ongoing<\/h3>\n<p>Detective Inspector Chris Clark of Merseyside Police\u2019s Firearms Investigation Team confirmed that the investigation remains active.
