A non-binary researcher at the University of Washington is under investigation after she allegedly called for conservatives to be assassinated like Charlie Kirk in disturbing social media posts.<\/p>\n

Staffer Mara Maughan, who uses she\/they pronouns, made the sick comment on a Facebook post from the executive director of the Educational Freedom Institute, Corey DeAngelis, who had shared a clip of Democratic Washington state Sen. Jamie Pedersen refusing to acknowledge biological advantages men have over women in sport, Fox News Digital reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay there be Tyler Robinsons for you all,\u201d Maughan wrote in the comment, in response to the clip, in which DeAngelis had written, \u201che can\u2019t acknowledge that there are biological differences between men and women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson is on trial for assassinating the conservative activist during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.<\/p>\n

Maughan is labeled as an RSE1 under the Department of Microbiology\u2019s \u201cresearch and lab staff\u201d on the UW Fuller Labs website.<\/p>\n

She is employed through a union-based position at the university, and has her own office space listed on the department\u2019s website on its South Lake Union campus.<\/p>\n

DeAngelis shared a screenshot of Maughan\u2019s comment on X, after she appeared to have deleted her social media accounts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis kind of violent rhetoric from Mara Maughan and far too many others on the left \u2014 wishing for assassins to target conservatives like me and my family \u2014 absolutely concerns me, as it not only normalizes political violence but fuels a dangerous environment where radical ideologies in academia and beyond threaten our freedoms and safety without accountability,\u201d DeAngelis told Fox News.<\/p>\n

Maughan previously described herself as \u201can autistic trans vaccine scientist\u201d in a separate Facebook comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cUW Medicine denounces violence against all people and takes seriously the concerns reported to us regarding this matter. We are reviewing the specifics of this situation \u2014 including a detailed review of the facts, university policy and the law \u2014 and will determine next steps,\u201d a UW spokesperson told Fox.<\/p>\n

DeAngelis thanked UW for \u201cfinally looking into this after the massive public outcry,\u201d but added that \u201ctheir actions will speak louder than this boilerplate statement that says nothing of substance,\u201d\u00a0the College Fix reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they truly denounce violence, they\u2019ll take real disciplinary action against Mara Maughan and bring meaningful accountability to prevent such hateful rhetoric from their employees in the future,\u201d DeAngelis said.<\/p>\n

Maughan did not respond immediately to requests for comment.<\/p>\n
