After Travis Kelce’s subpar performance against the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs fans have taken to social media to accuse Taylor Swift of being a ‘curse’ on the team<\/h2>\n

Kansas City Chiefs fans have claimed Taylor Swift is a “jinx” following Travis Kelce’s less-than-stellar performance against the Houston Texans.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs, who are the winners of five of the last six AFC championship games, could potentially not make the playoffs due to an embarrassing blunder by Kelce.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old failed to receive a pass from Patrick Mahomes, with the ball spilling into the air and being intercepted by the Texans’ Azeez Al-Shaair. This performance handed the Chiefs their seventh loss of the 2025\/26 season, with many believing this spells the end for the team’s dominance in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Following the 20-10 loss, the NFL’s data shows that the Chiefs have only a 15% chance of making the playoffs, meaning they will need to win all of their remaining games and hope other teams lose numerous times to stand any chance.<\/p>\n

Taylor was in attendance at the home game alongside best friend Selena Gomez, and fellow A-Listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Lena Dunham. As she tends to only attend games at Arrowhead Stadium, it is thought she will also be watching her beau on December 14 when the Chiefs play against the Los Angeles Chargers.<\/p>\n

However, since the game on December 7, Chiefs fans have sought out a scapegoat to blame for Travis’ mistake, and many have turned to Taylor, calling her a “jinx.”<\/p>\n

Taking to social media, one Chiefs fan fumed, “It\u2019s looking like the Taylor Swift curse is real KC,” as another person angrily penned on X, “What is up with the Kansas City Chiefs? The curse of Taylor Swift? I mean, they super suck.”<\/p>\n

“Taylor Swift jink?” simply asked a third, while a fourth fan chimed in on the conversation to say, “Taylor Swift ruined that football team,” with a crying laughing face emoji.<\/p>\n

However, it didn’t stop there, as another Kansas City Chiefs fan cruelly created a poll, asking, “Do the Chiefs stink because the dynasty is over, or because of Taylor Swift?” with the two options being “Dynasty is over” and “Taylor Swift.” At the time of writing, “Dynasty is over” was winning by 20%.<\/p>\n

However, some fans actually felt sorry for Taylor and the level of football she was being forced to watch as one fan joked, “Chiefs season so bad, Taylor Swift about to call off the marriage with Kelce.” Another person also quipped, “Can’t believe Travis Kelce is subjecting Taylor Swift to this game.”<\/p>\n

Although, despite Travis’ performance on Sunday, the tight end has had a great season with five touchdowns and 719 receiving yards to his name, the second-most of any in his position during the 2025 campaign so far. Yet, even though he has had a successful season, rumors persist that it may be his last, as his contract is set to expire in a few months.
