Duncan Robinson says that Heat culture is nothing special and that there’s no secret sauce in Miami. Even though it was an innocent and probably truthful comment, it’s likely not something that will sit well with Miami Heat fans.<\/p>\n

Robinson was asked about his time with the Heat and how he’s approaching his reunion in Miami Saturday night, and gave his insight on Heat culture now that he’s playing for another team.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s one thing in the building and another thing outside the building. It\u2019s taken a life of its own\u2026 it\u2019s similar here it\u2019s not like It\u2019s some secret sauce it\u2019s not like it\u2019s totally different than what everyone else is doing\u2026 but I was a beneficiary of that organization”<\/p>\n

Duncan Robinson might be right about Heat cutlure<\/h2>\n

In fairness, Robinson is probably right. Heat culture has certainly taken a life of its own in the public eye, when it’s just about having the right tendancies and organizational structure in place.<\/p>\n

It works so well because there are so few NBA franchises that run well in the league. The Heat, despite their ups and downs as an organization, happen to be one of them.<\/p>\n

The Heat’s culture is about working hard, taking advantage of every moment, not making any excuses, and paying attention to the details every day. Still, especially considering that Robinson was one of the bigger beneficiaries from “Heat culture,” this is one of those comments that fans won’t want to hear.<\/p>\n

Robinson did give the Heat their flowers for his development, but this is never something fans want to hear.<\/p>\n

Both the Heat and Duncan Robinson have thrived after the divorce<\/h2>\n

Even though the move to trade Robinson was not unanimously praised by the fan base, it was probably necessary, and it opened the door toward the path for Miami to land Norman Powell.<\/p>\n

And, at least through the first month of the season, the decision by both sides to move on from each other has worked out. The Heat have been fine without Robinson and are 13-6. Robinson is thriving in his starting role with the top-seeded Pistons.<\/p>\n

Both the Heat and Pistons are top 3 seeds in the Eastern Conference as well.<\/p>\n

It would be great to see what Robinson could’ve done in the Heat’s new high-octane pace and space offense, but both the Heat and Robinson needed to do what was best for each other. And, unfortunately, that included parting ways.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
