<\/p>\nFree agent outfielder Jose Ramos, who played the first six seasons of his professional career within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets this week.<\/p>\n
Ramos, 24, signed with the Dodgers in 2018, and began playing in the minors the following year. He played 57 games in the Dominican Summer League in 2019, slashing .285\/.362\/.377 with two home runs and 27 RBIs.<\/p>\n
After sitting out in 2020, Ramos tore the cover off the ball across multiple levels in 2021. He was quickly promoted to Single-A from the Arizona Complex League after posting a 1.089 OPS through 15 games, and stayed hot in Rancho Cucamonga.<\/p>\n

Ramos hit eight home runs and drove in 44 RBIs with the Quakes, posting a .936 OPS through 47 games. He spent 28 more games in Single-A in 2022 before being promoted to High-A Great Lakes. He played the remainder of the season with the Loons, finishing the season with an .818 OPS across the two levels.<\/p>\n
The Dodgers started him in Double-A Tulsa in 2023, and he struggled to break through with the Drillers. He played two full seasons at that level, never posting an OPS higher than .750. He began 2025 in Double-A as well, and the Dodgers called him up to Triple-A in July despite his substandard numbers.<\/p>\n
Upon reaching Triple-A, though, Ramos caught fire. He played 44 games with the Comets after his call up, hitting eight home runs and driving in 27 RBIs. He batted .295 with Oklahoma City, which was the highest batting average he had achieved with any team at any level since 2021, when he played for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.<\/p>\n

The Mets are down an outfielder after shipping Brandon Nimmo to the Texas Rangers, so the Dodgers could be seeing much more of their former prospect in the coming seasons.<\/p>\n
