2025 could be a year for\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0quarterback Patrick Mahomes to remember.<\/p>\n

He is\u00a0currently the betting favorite to win MVP<\/a>, leading the league in total touchdowns with 18, and ranking fourth in passing yards with 1,800. Last week against the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>, Mahomes became the first player in NFL history to produce at least 250 passing yards, three passing TDs, zero interceptions, and 25 rushing yards in a three-week span (H\/T Brandon Kiley).<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes can move up the record books in 3 different categories vs. Washington Commanders on Monday night<\/h2>\n

Mahomes has already broken multiple NFL records this season. In Week 6 against the\u00a0Detroit Lions<\/a>, he became the fastest player in league history to throw 300 TD passes. In Week 4 against the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens<\/a>, his 294th TD pass gave him the most by a player in his first nine seasons.<\/p>\n

Mahomes has 45 career games with at least three passing TDs. If he can throw three against the Commanders on Monday night, he will tie Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino for the most such games by a player in his first nine seasons.<\/p>\n

The next record opportunity is a near certainty. If Mahomes throws for 34 yards against Washington, he will join Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning as the only players in NFL history with at least 40,000 passing yards in their first nine seasons, including the postseason.<\/p>\n

Finally, Mahomes can tie retired QB Matt Ryan (61 games) for the third-most games with a passer rating of 100-or-higher in his first nine career seasons, trailing only\u00a0New York Giants<\/a>\u00a0QB Russell Wilson (74) and\u00a0Dallas Cowboys<\/a>\u00a0QB Dak Prescott (63). It stands to reason that Mahomes will eventually pass all three.If Mahomes can pull all of that off against the Commanders, it will be a pretty epic performance.\u00a0He and the Chiefs\u2019 offense are on fire<\/a>, averaging 31.5 points over their last four games.
