The Los Angeles Dodgers are receiving backlash for what players have said about the New York Yankees after their Game 5 debacle.<\/p>\n
On Baseball Tonight with Buster Olney, the ESPN reporter shared his thoughts on Joe Kelly and Chris Taylor taking shots at the Yankees.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know this: If the Yankees had won, Aaron Judge wouldn\u2019t have crapped on the Dodgers,\u201d Olney said. \u201cGiancarlo Stanton wouldn\u2019t have. Anthony Volpe? No chance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s evident Olney isn\u2019t fond of what some Dodgers players chose to say after the team beat the Yankees in the Fall Classic. Olney specifically referenced what Taylor said on Mookie Betts\u2019 podcast in a recent episode, when he stated, \u201cWe\u2019re all kind of thinking it \u2014 (the Yankees) kind of (crapped) down their leg.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think Taylor\u2019s had a great career, the way he\u2019s adjusted at the plate, he\u2019s adapted to different positions,\u201d Olney continued. \u201cHe\u2019s one of the best in the world at what he does. <\/em><\/p>\n But he and the small handful of other Dodgers who are chirping know better than anyone how hard their sport is to play, and they\u2019re better than this. Why not bask in the glory of an incredible World Series win from the high ground?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The Dodgers, with the help of poor defense from New York, orchestrated a historic comeback after facing a 0-5 deficit. It was the sort of jaw-dropping game that seems too crazy to be true, and yet it was the very inning that transpired for the Dodgers to take home their eighth World Series title.<\/p>\n The Dodgers scored five times in their fifth-inning rally.<\/p>\n The Yankees managed to score another run in the sixth, but the Dodgers answered again with two eighth-inning runs. Yankee Stadium went from a roaring crowd to defeated New York fans in a matter of minutes.<\/p>\n Players have expressed the odd energy during Game 5 of the World Series, and have also said the obvious: The Yankees played shockingly poor defense.<\/p>\n It may seem harsh to hear that sentence, but it is certainly true. The Dodgers wouldn\u2019t have won that game without New York\u2019s subpar defense.<\/p>\n At the end of the day, though, we will never know what Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, or Anthony Volpe would\u2019ve said about the Dodgers after the World Series because the Yankees lost.
