Taylor Swift fans have theorized that her song \u201cActually Romantic\u201d is a diss track about Kim Kardashian thanks to a telling line in the second verse.<\/p>\n
In the new song off of her record-breaking album, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d Swift laments, \u201cBut you keep sending me funny valentines \/ And I know you think it comes off vicious \/ But it\u2019s precious, adorable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many fans are speculating that the Grammy winner, 35, is referring to when Kardashian, 44,\u00a0sent Valentine\u2019s Day gifts to her \u201chaters\u201d\u00a0in 2018 and revealed the list of recipients on her Instagram Story at the time, which included Swift.<\/p>\n \u201cI decided for this Valentine\u2019s Day everyone deserves a Valentine,\u201d she wrote in the post. \u201cSo I\u2019m going to send them to my lovers, to my haters, to everyone that I think of because it\u2019s Valentine\u2019s Day after all.\u201d<\/p>\n Other Swifties are convinced\u00a0the song is a diss to Charli XCX\u00a0and a callback to the British singer\u2019s 2024 song \u201cEverything is Romantic.\u201d<\/p>\n There are some telling lyrics that fans think reference Charli like, \u201cI heard you call me \u2018Boring Barbie\u2019\u00a0when the coke\u2019s got you brave \/ High-fived my ex and then you said you\u2019re glad he ghosted me \/ Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans called it a direct jab at the DJ since she\u2019s been open about her alleged drug use in her music and is close friends with\u00a0Swift\u2019s ex boyfriend Matty Healy\u00a0since her husband is Healy\u2019s The 1975 bandmate.<\/p>\n If the new clue is about \u201cKeeping Up With the Kardashians\u201d alum, it wouldn\u2019t be the first diss track Swift allegedly made about her.<\/p>\n On the singer\u2019s 2024 album, \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d she wrote \u201cthanK you aIMee\u201d a song with scathing lyrics about a \u201cbronze, spray-tanned\u201d bully her mom \u201cwish[es] were dead.\u201d<\/p>\n To add more fuel to the fire, the capitalization in the track\u2019s title\u00a0spells the reality star\u2019s first name, which fans immediately caught onto.<\/p>\n Swift then dropped a retitled version of \u2018thank You aimEe\u2019\u00a0seemingly aimed at Kardashian\u2019s then-husband Kanye West, changing the capitalization to \u00a0\u201cthank You aimEe\u201d which spells Ye, the name he now goes by.<\/p>\n Swift and Kardashian\u2019s\u00a0feud began in 2016\u00a0when West, 48, rapped about how he and the songwriter \u201cmight still have sex\u201d because he \u201cmade that bitch famous.\u201d<\/p>\n When the \u201cCruel Summer\u201d singer publicly took issue with the lyrics, Kardashian\u00a0released a phone call\u00a0of Swift allegedly giving her approval \u2014 which Swift later claimed was \u201cillegally recorded.\u201d<\/p>\n The Skims co-founder also\u00a0commented on their rivalry\u00a0in an episode of \u201cKeeping Up With the Kardashians\u201d later that same year, telling mom Kris Jenner she \u201cwanted to defend\u201d her husband by leaking the phone call.<\/p>\n Swift\u00a0reignited their feud\u00a0in her\u00a0Time magazine cover story\u00a0in 2023 when she gave a candid quote about how the incident \u201ctook [her] down psychologically\u00a0to a place [she\u2019d] never been before.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was afraid to get on phone calls.
