Following the Chiefs\u2019 25-22 victory in February\u2019s Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers, Reid vowed to return for the opportunity to earn a three-peat.<\/p>\n

Reid\u2019s future wasn\u2019t the only member of the Chiefs in doubt during in January.<\/p>\n

Many thought tight end Travis Kelce could retire and join his brother Jason (who did retire from the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2023 season) in a duo media career. Travis chose to return to play for Kansas City.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs took care of both their head coach and star tight end this offseason. Reid\u00a0signed\u00a0a contract extension with Kansas City. Travis signed a new deal that made him the\u00a0highest-paid\u00a0tight end in terms of annual salary.<\/p>\n

The details of Reid\u2019s deal were unknown in April when agreed to an extension.\u00d7<\/p>\n

$100 million in five years to coach Patrick Mahomes seems like a dream come true for any head coach of any age. At 66, Reid seems to have plenty of years left in him to coach in the league. The Chiefs are\u00a09-1\u00a0entering their Week 12 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, so his brains seem to be working just fine on the Kansas City sideline.<\/p>\n

Fans on social media don\u2019t think Reid is\u00a0walking away\u00a0from the rest of the $100 million contract anytime soon.<\/p>\n
