<\/p>\nThe Lakers might have their eyes on an unexpected trade target – Paul George. Despite signing a $212 million deal with the 76ers, the eight-time All-Star’s Philadelphia tenure hasn’t gone as planned, potentially opening the door for a Los Angeles return.<\/p>\n

According to Clutch Points’ Anthony Irwin, George could be a perfect fit for the Lakers if Philadelphia decides to shake things up. “He’s a knockdown three-point shooter, especially in catch-and-shoot opportunities.<\/p>\n
He can handle the ball, too, which helps when either Davis or LeBron James is off the floor,” Irwin wrote Wednesday.<\/p>\n
George’s numbers in Philadelphia have been underwhelming – 14.9 points per game on just 38.3% shooting from the field and 27.8% from three-point range.<\/p>\n
However, a left knee injury has contributed to his slow start, and his recent comments on his “Podcast P” show suggest frustration with the team’s direction after their 11th loss.<\/p>\n
While a healthy George could provide the Lakers with perimeter shooting and defensive versatility, making the deal work would be complicated.<\/p>\n
As Irwin notes, “You’re probably looking at a trade of D’Angelo Russell’s expiring $18 million, Rui Hachimura ($17 million), Gabe Vincent ($11 million), and either Jaxson Hayes or Cam Reddish ($2.5 million), plus the 2029 and 2031 first-round picks and probably a few second-rounders\/picks swaps on top of it all, and that’s if Philly doesn’t demand Dalton Knecht or Austin Reaves.”<\/p>\n
