However, it was practically impossible to move on from the mistake that was Terry Rozier, which would&#8217;ve added to the Heat&#8217;s possibilities. When it comes to that specific situation, it was somewhat of a nightmarish summer for the Heat.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\">With the start of NBA Training Camp days away, it&#8217;s become quite clear (and reported extensively by Heat writer Anthony Chiang) that Rozier is going to be an active participant for the Heat. And it&#8217;s not necessarily because the Heat believe he can change the narrative with his on-the-court play this season, but more so because there&#8217;s not another team in the NBA that is willing to take him on.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\">It&#8217;s been widely reported that the Heat has attempted to trade Rozier, but has had no success in doing so and has found no traction.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\">To add injury to insult, Rozier isn&#8217;t expected to have much interest in a buyout, even if the Heat were open to going down that route. Maybe that changes in a couple of months (on both sides), but at least for now, both the Heat and Rozier must figure out how to make the best of this pretty undesirable situation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"inline-text-4\">The Terry Rozier trade was a clear mistake<\/h2>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\">Even though there was a good portion of the fan base in favor of the trade at the time, there&#8217;s little argument against the fact that the Rozier trade was a pretty big mistake. He may have had a few bright moments during that first year with the team, but his time with the Heat has been nothing short of disastrous.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\">He didn&#8217;t give the Heat the backcourt bump in production the team hoped he would, and certainly didn&#8217;t help the team on the Jimmy Butler front. In many ways, the move for Rozier was too little, too late for the Heat.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\">It was likely the point of no return between the Heat and Jimmy, and, individually, he&#8217;s done little to change the narrative on his career since leaving the Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\">The fact that the Heat included a first-round pick to acquire Rozier makes it all the more difficult to swallow. But, at this point, there&#8217;s nothing the Heat can do now.
