Andy Reid and the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0secured their first win of the 2025\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0season in Week 3, taking down Russell Wilson and the\u00a0New York Giants<\/a>\u00a022-9 on \u201cSunday Night Football.\u201d Quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes<\/a>\u00a0had a nice night, completing 22-of-37 passes for 224 yards and one touchdown, despite facing constant pressure from one of the better defensive fronts in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Through three games in 2025, Mahomes has only been sacked six times, one of the lower marks in the NFL. However, the two-time NFL MVP always seems to be running for his life or taking hits. The Chiefs\u2019 offensive line woes go further than that,\u00a0totaling nine penalties<\/a>\u00a0through three games.<\/p>\n

In fact, right tackle Jawaan Taylor accounts for six of those, including two false starts and three holds,\u00a0tied for the most penalties<\/a>\u00a0in the NFL. Taylor also finished tied for the second-most penalties in 2024 with 14.<\/p>\n

Despite the penalties Taylor has accumulated, the right tackle has yet to allow a sack this season. Reid acknowledged as much on Wednesday, praising Taylor and suggesting no change at the position is coming.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, when he doesn\u2019t have the penalties, his percentage has been good,\u201d Reid said of Taylor. \u201cYou could argue he\u2019s one of the better tackles in his pass protection game, so I\u2019m conscious of that, and then I\u2019ll take care of it from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid also noted that he thought the win over the Giants was one of his offensive line\u2019s \u201cbetter games,\u201d particularly in run blocking.<\/p>\n
