Gardner-Johnson went viral earlier this year for several comments making fun of the singer. At the time, Gardner-Johnson was a safety on the Philadelphia Eagles, but was traded in the offseason to the\u00a0Houston Texans after winning the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs \u2014 the team that Swift&#8217;s now-fianc\u00e9, Travis Kelce, plays for.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner-Johnson body shamed Swift when he made a post on his Instagram Story comparing the singer to Kelce&#8217;s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.<button class=\"flex h-12 items-center justify-center rounded-md border border-primary-accent px-5 py-3 font-secondary font-semibold text-primary-accent\"><\/button><\/p>\n<p>The sports reporter and Kelce dated on and off from 2017-2022. Kelce\u00a0proposed to Swift\u00a0last month. However, the taunting didn&#8217;t stop. During the Gardner-Johnson Eagles victory parade, the former Eagles safety\u00a0wore a sweatshirt\u00a0that\u00a0read \u201cSwifties can LIX my b\u2014-.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Taylor Swift fans react to C.J. Gardner-Johnson&#8217;s release<\/h2>\n<p>Once news broke that Gardner-Johnson was cut from the Texans after three games in the 2025-26 season, Swifites defended the singer.<\/p>\n<p>One fan quoted Swift\u00a0underneath a post\u00a0that shared the news, \u201cThere&#8217;s no point in actively trying to quote unquote defeat your enemies. Trash takes itself out every single time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another fan\u00a0posted\u00a0a gif of the singer with the line from her song \u201cKarma,\u201d \u201cKarma&#8217;s a relaxing thought.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One fan simply\u00a0added a gif of Swift raising a wine glass which they added, \u201cHa Ha! That&#8217;s karma baby!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swift has not reacted to the news of Gardner-Johnson being cut nor has she responded to the previous messages he&#8217;s written about her online.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner-Johnson addressed the beef in an interview with The Pivot podcast back in July.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cCrazy because a couple of fans said they&#8217;ve been following me since I was at Florida,\u201d Gardner-Johnson, a Gators alum, said\u00a0on The Pivot Podcast. \u201cIt was like: \u2018We don&#8217;t like what you did, but I&#8217;m a fan of you,&#8217; and they take a picture and go about our days. It is nothing malicious. I ran into a lot of them in Target, just going to get some toiletry stuff, and I just run into them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"C.J.
