When the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Giants<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday Night Football in Week 3, each team will be looking to get their first win of the season.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs have lost both their games by just one possession. Their\u00a0defense was dominant in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, surrendering only 216 yards of total offense.<\/p>\n

They will be counting on another strong performance from the unit versus a New York offense that racked up 506 total yards and 37 points on the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys<\/a>\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n

The Giants got a new starting quarterback for the 2025 season in veteran Russell Wilson, who the\u00a0Chiefs know well from his days with the Denver Broncos<\/a>. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Chiefs safety Bryan Cook had plenty of praise for Wilson.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see him clicking on all cylinders,\u201d Cook said of Wilson. \u201cTrusting in his arm, letting it sling, trusting his guys, getting the ball to his go-to guys as well. I think he found his different type of groove. He\u2019s been league for a few years, and I feel like he found a great combination of having experience, as well as the younger mentality of just playing football and having fun. He\u2019s definitely in his groove, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chiefs\u2019 defense is preparing to face both Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart at QB<\/h2>\n

The Giants selected Dart with their first-round pick in the 2025\u00a0NFL Draft<\/a>.\u00a0Dart had an excellent preseason<\/a>, and is definitely N.Y.\u2019s QB of the future. Ahead of the beginning of the regular season, it was speculated that the Giants would have a package of plays for Dart in each game.<\/p>\n

Dart has taken snaps in both games so far, but has yet to do anything of note. He has played a total of three snaps, handing the ball of twice, and running the ball once himself for a gain of -3 yards. Bryan Cook went on to say that the Chiefs\u2019 defense is preparing to see Dart at some point in the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe trust his ability,\u201d Cook said of Dart. \u201cWe trust what he showed us in college, and what he\u2019s put on tape, even if it\u2019s not that much. You never want to undermine anybody, because, first and foremost, he\u2019s behind a great quarterback. So, who knows when he\u2019s been told in the locker room. Respect for him will be as high as it is for the starter as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

The N.Y. coaching staff will eventually let Dart throw a pass, so the Chiefs will have to be prepared for that. Dart also has the athleticism to make plays with his legs.
