Djed Spence’s football journey has been anything but straightforward, yet his perseverance has finally paid off with one of the proudest moments of his career.

The right-back first arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022, a move that was meant to launch him onto the Premier League stage. However, under Antonio Conte, opportunities were scarce. Spence found himself on the fringes of the squad, unable to establish himself as a regular. He went on to credit his faith for helping him endure the toughest moments of his career. “Whatever religion you believe in, just believe in God. God is the greatest for me personally, and he never lets you down. Days like today are special because of God, for me. I was a little bit emotional because the journey hasn’t been easy. But I am officially an England player now — and I am over the moon.”
