San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams was ejected late in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s game after a fight with Kansas City Chiefs safety Bryan Cook. Both players were fined for the altercation, according to NBC Sports’ Michael David Smith.
Williams is currently under a three-year, $82.6 million contract with the 49ers, making the fine a relatively small amount for the 36-year-old. Cook, on a four-year, $5.8 million contract, takes a slightly bigger hit, but both players are fortunate not to receive suspensions after the late-game shots with less than three minutes left and a 16-point deficit.
The 49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir was also fined $11,817 for an unnecessary roughness penalty late in the fourth quarter.
The 6-0 Chiefs travel to Las Vegas on Sunday to play the Raiders and the 3-4 49ers will face the Dallas Cowboys at home.
