Dallas Cowboys just made this player one of the highest-paid at his position
Hunter Luepke is the latest Dallas Cowboy to sign a contract extension following the team’s trade of pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Luepke signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract, making him the third-highest-paid fullback in the NFL behind Miami Dolphins’ Alec Ingold and the Minnesota Vikings’ C.J. Ham.
Luepke has played two seasons with the Cowboys and finished last year with 149 yards from scrimmage while providing value on special teams, where he played 37.4% of snaps.
His new contract follows that of cornerback DaRon Bland, who signed a four-year, $92 million extension after the team opened up cap space by trading Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first round draft picks.
The Cowboys open the season at 7:20 p.m.
Thursday at the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
